On 18th November morning，Dr. Robert Dooley, Vice President of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga(hereinafter referred to as UTC) and Dean of Business School, Mr. Takeo Suzuki, Executive Director of Global Education Center, Mr. Peter Zhang, Project Director of China and Ms. Wang Yong wei, head of Shanghai Office, paid an visit to Chengdu University of Technology(hereinafter referred to as CDTU).

Accompanied by the staffs of International Office，the delegation visited science park and Chenggong Fu Chuang Technology Company of our university at first，then the two parts attended the symposium for further communication. Mr. Chen Chuanwei, Vice-president of CDTU and representative of the School of Computer Engineering and staffs from the International Office took part in this meeting.

At the meeting，on behalf CDTU, Mr. Chen Chuanwei expressed his warm welcome to the delegation from the UTC. Then both sides watched short films of both universities, and made a clear intrduction about school running concept,specially setting and school running characteristic. Mr. Takeo Suzki  introduced the majors such as big data and others in Business School which combines business with computer science, to form a unique professional trainning mode.

Vice-president Mr. Chen Chuanwei noted that the two parts share similarity in their school running concept and discipline setting, especially in fields which focuses on the combination of computer engineering and business to train application-oriented talents to serve local enterprises. This will lay foundation for the future cooperation between the two universities. At last，a fruitful discussion was made on student exchange projects， teacher development and joint education.

Attachment：the UTC，founded in 1886，is a goverment-funded university in Chattanooga Tennessee.It is one of three universities and two affiliated institutions of the Tennessee University System. UTC has conducted wide exchanges and cooperation in joint education with other universities in China.
